BINGO -
Bingo is conducted
weekly in the church basement and a non-smoking environment is
maintained. There are 47 to 48 sessions per year depending on
winter conditions when travel can be dangerous and workers and
customers are advised not to come. Our Lady of Lourdes Bingo
provides a friendly atmosphere that encourages the customer to
come and share an afternoon of fun playing a game that they all
enjoy. A result of providing this service is income that
assists the parish in meeting some of its financial obligations.
Bingo is played on Thursday with doors opening at 10:00 a.m.
There are two sessions, Lightning and Regular. Lightning (Fast)
bingo is played 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. Regular bingo starts
at 1:00 p.m. and is over at approximately 3:30 p.m. Regular
bingo consists of nineteen regular games, four specials,
coverall, and bonanza. There is a staff of dedicated volunteers
that come each week to conduct the games. While some work in
all areas the tasks are divided in two basic parts: The kitchen
staff provides a delicious lunch that is enjoyed by the
customer; the floor staff does the operation and running of the
games. Contact Ed Hobbs at 419-531-3754.

hearts and hands to do the huge job of making the parish
festival a success. Anyone and everyone can take part in this
endeavor and it won’t be long that our Chairman Art Zielinski
will be seeking workers. Lets’ save him some effort and let us
know that we can count on you to participate in this upcoming
2012 Festival that will take place in July. If you already know
what you would like to do, write that in, if not there will be
someone who will contact you in the near future. The Lenten Fish
Fries also need workers. Let us know if you would like to take

is a non-communion visit. Hospital visitors are positive, good
listeners and in most instances share prayer with the patient
and/or visitors. Would you consider being a Hospital Visitor for
Our Lady of Lourdes Parish? Contact Sr. Ritamarie at the Parish

T.U.S.A.
Toledoans United for Social Action -
TUSA is vehicle for congregations to
"do justice," according to the command given in Micah 6:8. We
currently consist of 25 racially, geographically, and
ecclesiastically diverse churches. We address serious community
problems by identifying systemic solutions and using the power
of large numbers of organized people (our churches' justice
ministry networks) to press local decision makers to implement
those solutions. For example, in 2009, TUSA churches realized
that there was a desperate need for retraining of Toledo’s
workforce. So at our annual Nehemiah Action meeting, 1200
people gathered to get our County Commissioners to dedicate $1
million of stimulus money to a green jobs training program. As
of 2010, 300 people had received certifications through this
program. Contact Barb Warner at 419-868-1616 |
